Can you help the Junior Section - Junior Treasurer required..
Our current Junior Treasurer Liz Elliott (an u12 parent) has done an incredible, sterling job for us over many years but she will sadly be stepping down from what is an important role on the Junior Committee at the end of this season. The club operates successfully through the coaching teams but this is supported by the willing volunteers that are the Junior Committee. It is vital that we continue to run the club on a financially sound platform and a replacement for this role is sought.
Liz has pulled together the key elements of the role she undertakes (below) as a guide to anyone willing to volunteer their services. There is no formal panel interview, or rigorous assessment process - there’s no need to even understand the rules of rugby! All we are hoping for is that someone could commit to taking this on and supporting the Junior section through the 12/13 season, potentially even beyond..
If anyone wishes to talk it over 1-2-1 then either Scott Jameson or Liz Elliot would be willing to have a confidential chat, just let us know…
A list of the key tasks typically undertaken by the Junior Treasurer -
Collection of Subscriptions from each of the team coaches. Mostly at the start of the rugby year (Sept – Nov) but few dribs and drabs throughout the year. Most come in by cheque, and coaches will need to be chased for any outstanding.
Collection of monies for any Raffles, end year dinner etc.
Petty cash payments for small amounts on presentation of invoice (eg. Match catering, ref’s fees). Manage Petty cash levels.
Pass cheque payments received to Senior Treasurer for paying in to bank account. Pass any invoices received for large amounts to Senior Treasurer for payment by cheque.
Liaise with Senior Treasurer re: Club Accounts (eg. Forecasts, spend to date).
Attend Junior RFC monthly meetings.
